Formed by the church’s earliest theologians and councils, these statements of faith met the challenges to the church’s unity as they arose in the first three centuries. When we are able to recite the creed with greater understanding and conviction, we can enter into a richer communion with God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and also with the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church.
